$30 for 30 Mansfield Fellowship Fundraising Campaign
In 2026, the Mansfield Foundation celebrates a thirtieth class of Mansfield Fellows, a milestone in the Program’s history of building a corps of U.S. federal government employees with proficiency in the Japanese language and practical, firsthand knowledge about Japan and its government.
Fellows have contributed meaningfully to the U.S. government’s understanding of Japan and this marker is a tribute to each Fellow’s contributions to the U.S.–Japan relationship. The Program represents a return on investment for the United States, Japan, and the careers of more than 200 Fellows over three decades.
But this milestone also arrives at a moment of uncertainty.
We remain deeply committed to sustaining and growing the program, but federal support is under pressure. As we continue to work closely with our partners in both governments, we’re also turning to the people who know best what the Fellowship means to the bar-none relationship: you.
That is why we are launching the “$30 for 30” campaign: a call to all alumni and supporters to ensure the next 30 years of Fellows can continue to thrive and grow as alliance managers.
