U.S.-Japan Network for the Future Cohort I scholar James Gannon (Executive Director, Japan Center for International Exchange, JCIE) and his JCIE colleagues recently released the results of their latest survey on U.S. donations in response to Japan’s March 2011 “triple disaster.” The report estimates that Americans have donated more than $712 million for disaster relief and recovery efforts in Japan, a record amount for a disaster in a developed nation.
