After an extraordinary tenure with the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation, Tokyo Office Director Teruyo Kuramoto will be stepping down from that role in 2025.
The Foundation has begun a search for a new director for the Japan office, with a job posting available online here. Ms. Kuramoto will remain with the Mansfield Foundation until her successor has been brought on board.
Since joining the Foundation in January 1997, Ms. Kuramoto has anchored the organization’s presence in Japan. She has overseen the gradual expansion of Mansfield’s Tokyo operations, building the office from a team of one to managing a talented team of specialists in the field of international exchange. Under her able leadership, the Mansfield Tokyo Office has nurtured 28 classes of Mansfield Fellows in Japan. As the longest serving staff member in the history of the organization, she has trained dozens of colleagues in the core values of the Mansfield Foundation by listening carefully, interacting thoughtfully, and building lasting relationships.
The Foundation that has benefited enormously from Teruyo’s decades of service, and we thank Teruyo Kuramoto for her decades of service here at Mansfield.
