Connecting People & Ideas to Advance Mutual Interests in U.S.-Asia Relations

Last week the second group of Mansfield-PhRMA Research Scholars met at the Foundation’s Tokyo office to prepare for their September 7-17 visit to the United States. During their visit the eight young researchers from Japan’s pharmaceutical research community will learn about U.S. translational research, healthcare policy, and regulatory practices through meetings and site visits in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and Boston. The delegation will meet with senior experts in major pharmaceutical research programs, including managers of pharmaceutical research programs in the U.S. government and experts on translating research into commercial opportunities. The annual Research Scholars Program was launched in early 2013 and is sponsored by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA).
