From May 27-31 the Mansfield Foundation, in cooperation with New York University’s U.S.-Asia Law Institute, the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and Sun Yat-sen University, will hold the 2013 conference of its ongoing Rule of Law in Asia program. Legal scholars and practitioners from mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the United States will gather in Hong Kong for two days of discussions on “Legal Institutions, Trade and Investment in China,” followed by a trip to Guangzhou to discuss issues relating to land use and land rights with students and faculty at Sun Yat-sen University. The 2013 conference is sponsored by the Hinrich Foundation and Lingnan Foundation, with support from the Better Hong Kong Foundation and the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy. The conference will include a May 29 public forum at HKU on the rule of law in China and Hong Kong. For more information about the public forum, click here.
