Description:

Gabriel Mahns, an Airport Compliance Specialist at the United States Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), will give an overview of international aviation policy. He will also provide insight into the funding of aviation infrastructure in the United States. Drawing from his experience as commercial pilot, safety inspector, and FAA employee, Mr. Mahns will offer personal observations regarding some of the challenges currently facing civil aviation.

Prof. Konya is in charge of SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) in GRIPS. He worked for JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) for 20 years and he is temporarily working for GRIPS. Prior to assignment in GRIPS, he promoted SDGs in JICA. He was a field director for infrastructure projects. He was also seconded to Japan’s Ministry of Construction. He obtained a Master’s of Engineering degree in Urban Planning at Tokyo Metropolitan University.
