On September 13, the Foundation hosted Japanese Diet Member Katsuyuki Kawai at the request of the Embassy of Japan. Representative Kawai is Special Advisor for Foreign Affairs to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and was in Washington to convey an important message on North Korea to U.S. members of Congress and others. Representative Kawai’s key points were that: now is not the time for dialogue with North Korea, now is the time to increase pressure; all options are on the table, and; we should deal with North Korea in terms of action for action, and not engage in dialogue just for the sake of dialogue.
