U.S. Bureaucrats Sent to Kasumigaseki: Cultivating Trust in an Era of Tension

Kiichi Fujiwara (Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Tokyo) described the background and importance of the Mike Mansfield Fellowship Program in the January 22 edition of the Asahi Shimbun evening paper.  Professor Fujiwara, a monthly contributor to the newspaper, has been involved with the Fellowship Program since the late 1990s.   He has served on the selection committee and conducted seminars for the Fellows in Japan.  To read the Mansfield Foundation’s translation of his commentary, click here.
