What is the Mansfield-PhRMA Research Scholars Program?
The Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation launched the Mansfield-PhRMA Research Scholars Program in February 2013. This program brings eight young Japanese researchers from Japan’s pharmaceutical sector to the United States annually to learn about U.S. healthcare policy, pharmaceutical research, regulatory practices and translational research. The Japanese researchers participating in the Research Scholars Program gain insights into how their counterparts in U.S. government pharmaceutical research programs, pharmaceutical companies, and universities work together to translate research into commercial opportunities. The program is sponsored by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA).
