You Can Help Build a Strong U.S.-Asia Relationship

The Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation relies on the financial support of foundations, corporations and individuals to help us advance understanding and cooperation between the United States and Asia.

Although the word “Foundation” is in our name, we are not a grant-making organization. We rely on the generosity of our many friends who share our belief that a strong U.S.-Asia relationship is essential to peace and security in the 21st century.

Financial contributions, both large and small, from our valued friends enable us to:

  • administer the first-of-its-kind Mansfield Fellowship Program
  • organize conferences and retreats on the most salient issues in U.S.-Asia relations
  • provide opportunities for emerging leaders from the United States and Asia to build networks and engage in dialogues that have a ripple effect on regional diplomacy
  • conduct research on policy issues in the Pacific region
  • publish e-newsletters, reports and other publications

Capitol Hill Asia Policy Dialogues

One way corporations can support the Foundation’s mission is through engagement in the Mansfield Foundation’s Capitol Hill Asia Policy Dialogue series.  This program brings leading Asia experts to Capitol Hill to share their expertise, providing opportunities for members of Congress and their staff to learn about issues of importance to companies operating in Asia.  For more information, please see our Capitol Hill Asia Policy Dialogues page.

Other Opportunities for Collaboration

Supporting and engaging in the Capitol Hill Asia Policy Dialogues is often a first step for corporate affiliates interested in partnering with the Foundation.  In addition, the Foundation is able to work closely with corporate supporters to develop programs that address issues critical to their companies’ operations and interests in Asia.  For example, the Foundation has collaborated with corporate affiliates on a dialogue to strengthen and raise the profile of APEC and on a program to examine prospects for U.S.-Japan cooperation on an integrated approach to improving efficiency and reducing emissions from passenger vehicles

We welcome opportunities to meet with potential corporate supporters to discuss ways we can work together to strengthen U.S.-Asia relations and to enhance the private-public sector dialogue on important Asia-related issues.
