For more than thirty years the Mansfield Foundation has worked to further Mike Mansfield’s vision for close U.S.-Asia relations through its exchanges, dialogues and other programs. Please support our efforts by making an online contribution or by sending us a donation.
Supporting the Foundation
Although the word “foundation” is in our name, the Mansfield Foundation is not a grant-making organization. The Foundation is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization that was established with an appropriation from the U.S. Congress. The original appropriation remains in an endowment that provides less than 9 percent of the Foundation’s support. As a result, our programs rely on funding from foundations, corporations, and individuals who share our belief in the importance of a strong U.S.-Asia relationship. Financial contributions, both large and small, enable us to develop and implement programs that contribute to engagement in Asia at a pivotal moment for U.S. relations with the region. Contributions support Foundation activities including:
- Exchanges that provide opportunities for U.S. and Asian government, business and opinion leaders to build expertise, experience and networks. These exchanges contribute to better understanding and better policymaking.
- Dialogues that facilitate substantive discussions on some of the most complex issues affecting U.S.-Asia relations, including international trade, national security, energy and environmental challenges, and the rule of law.
- Programs fostering new generations of American Asia experts with the goal of strengthening dialogue, research and cooperation between the United States and Asia into the future.
- Research, education and communication efforts including a weekly newsletter, resources for researchers, and publications.
Contributions are tax-deductible and can be designated as unrestricted or for the endowment or a specific program area.
Corporate Friends of Mansfield Program
The Mansfield Foundation welcomes opportunities to partner with corporations. The Foundation developed the Corporate Friends of Mansfield (CFM) program in 2014 to offer our corporate partners benefits tailored to their strategic interests while we work together to promote understanding and cooperation between the United States and Asia. Corporate sponsors receive information, networking, and promotional benefits. They benefit from the Mansfield Foundation’s vast network on both sides of the Pacific through exclusive briefings in Washington, D.C., and Tokyo as well as other opportunities for communication and collaboration. Please see our CFM brochure for more information about support levels and benefits. The Foundation also is able to work closely with corporate sponsors to develop programs that address issues critical to their companies’ operations and interests. For further information about opportunities to partner with the Mansfield Foundation, please contact Mansfield Foundation Vice President David Boling at (202) 347-1994 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
