Methodology
The poll was conducted by telephone from September 2 to September 3 with voters from across Japan (certain regions of Fukushima prefecture excluded) selected by the Asahi RDD method. The turnout was 59%, having received 1051 answers from the original 1773 questioned.

Figures are in percentages, with decimals being rounded up. Unless otherwise specified, figures in () are the results of a poll conducted on August 25 and 26, 2011. Figures in [] represent the percentage from the whole.
