Ambassador Jose Cuisia Roundtable

Former Philippine Ambassador Jose Cuisia presented his perspective on recent Philippine political, economic, and security developments at an October 9 roundtable co-hosted by the Mansfield Foundation, the US-Philippines Society, and the Philippines Roundtable.   In addition to serving as Ambassador to the United States from 2011-2016, Ambassador Cuisia served as Governor of the Central Bank of the Philippines from 1990-1993 and currently is vice-chairman of the Philippine American Life and General Insurance Co.  Based on his experience as a government and private sector leader, he was able to offer unique insights on issues including Philippines-U.S. relations, territorial disputes in the South China Sea, and political opposition within the Philippines.
