The Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation is a nonprofit corporation that promotes understanding
and cooperation among the nations and peoples of Asia and the United States, with offices in
Washington, DC, Tokyo and Missoula, Montana. The Fiscal Affairs Director’s office is in Missoula.
Job Description
♦ Accounting for and financial administration of a $2.5 million/year organization with an
investment portfolio of $10 million;
♦ Oversight of budgeting, transaction processing, and financial reporting, including preparation of
financial statements;
♦ Establishing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws
and regulations, including accounting for federal grant funds;
♦ Attending meetings of the Board of Directors and its committees.
The qualified candidate should:
♦ Be proficient in nonprofit accounting (accounting degree or CPA license required, master’s
degree preferred);
♦ Have extensive experience with Federal grant policies and requirements, accounting software,
and Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint);
♦ Have experience managing people, budgets and limited resources;
♦ Have excellent verbal and writing communication skills;
♦ Have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with members of
government, academia, colleagues and partners in Japan and East Asia, and a distinguished
Board of Directors.
Beginning salary is $56,000 – $60,000, depending on experience. The Foundation offers generous
benefits, including health and dental insurance, and a retirement plan. The position begins June 2016.
