The Chicago Council on Global Affairs conducted its biennial Global
Views study in the summer of 2006. The 2006 comparative study included
the publics of the United States, China, India, South Korea and Australia.
This study sheds light on public attitudes in these five countries
on a number of global issues and challenges including the rise of
China and India and how it will affect the global economy and geopolitics,
the role the United States and the foreign policy tools it should
employ, nuclear proliferation, international terrorism, international
security, economic competition from other countries, and threats
